1 Kings 18:41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.
Dry seasons precede rainy seasons. Drought precedes abundance of rain. If you are going through the “drought” face of your life, congratulations, for there is a sign of abundance of rain!
Are you jobless? There is a sign that you are going to be a business owner. Are you on the sick bed? There is a sign that you are going to be full of health. Are you looking for the fruit of the womb, there is a sign that you are going to be a mother and a father of children/nations. Are you looking for a partner, there is a sign that you are going to have a happy home. Is admission yours (of course, not into a hospital)? You will soon become a graduate.
Meanwhile, there are things to do between the sound of abundance of rain and the abundance of rain.
1) Be expectant. “Get the up!” suggests that, you are to be expectant. Be positive minded (be optimistic), have faith in God. Never doubt Him? “God is not a man that He should lie, nor the son of man that he should repent.”
2) Undertake your normal routine. Don’t be downcast. Elijah told Ahab to eat and drink. Be happy and celebrate God’s integrity, He was the one that has said, “There is a sign of abundance of rain.” And there was. He is saying the same thing this day concerning your situation, “There is an end to dryness in your life in Jesus’ name.” Amen!
3) Be persistent in your faith. The servant of Elijah would have doubted God, if not the persistence of Elijah. Doubt is the major cause of non-fulfilment of God’s word in the life of God’s people. No matter what, never doubts the efficacy of God’s word.
4) Be persistent in your prayer. Elijah kept praying until He saw God fulfilling His word in Ahab’s life. Meanwhile, if I were you, I would make the prayer of Thanksgiving a priority instead repetition on the same issue. Thanking God in prayers and every time makes prayers and prophecies come to fruition.
