Daniel 1:8 – But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

Esther  2:15 – Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king’s chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her.

Unlike all other maidens that requested for as many things as possible when they wanted to go in to the king, with what the keeper of the women , Hegai, gave them, Esther went only with what the king’s chamberlain, the keeper of the women appointed. All other maidens ended up becoming concubines while Esther ended up a queen.

Esther was an orphan. She had every reason to be covetous and asked for many additional things from the appointed staff of the king, but she did not. What a good mentality! She knew that she had a God that can give more than enough to His children.

When some ladies are caught in wrong doing, just like that man at the Pool of Bethesda, there excuse would be, “I have none to help me.” That is no enough reason to go into neither prostitution nor begging. God has ever remained our help in times of need. If you surrender your life to Him and truly trust Him, He would show up on your behalf.

Esther did not over dress to lure the king and others into loving her. She dressed moderately, modestly and decently, no wonder she garnered God’s favour through the king and all onlookers.

The things for purification had already being given them (Esther 2:3). Every other thing anyone of them requested for is to defile them and make them impure. God knows your need, and He had already provided them for you. All other things you are craving for, if properly scrutinized, you will see that you don’t really need them, they are just wants.

Maybe the desire for such stemmed up out if covetousness or influence from friends and the environment. God is a good God that attends to the needs of His children o’er time. At the right time, He would provide all that you are asking for. Don’t defile yourself because you think God is too slow to give you your request. He wants to do it in a mega way.

If you are content and descent, you would never end up as a concubine but a queen.
