God has never worked according to the colour of man. He operates true the heart of man.

William J. Seymour (May 2, 1870 – Sept. 28, 1922). He was a black and named “The Catalyst of Pentecost.”

His parents were just free from slavery; and at 25, he left Southern Louisiana for North Indiaya. What blacks are afraid to do! He was an avid follower of John Wesley who believed in strong prayer, holiness, divine healing, and believe in Jesus Christ. Seymour attended the opening of Parham’s Bible school in Houston by fervency of Mrs Farrow (His friend).

Owen Adams of California traveled to Canada from Azusa where he met Robert Semple (Aimee Semple McPherson’s first husband). John G. Lake also visited Azusa Street meetings (Azusa is the area where Seymour’s meetings were being held).

Seymour married Jennie Evans Moore – a faithful member of his ministry – on May 13, 1908. He died at the age of 52.

Demos Shakarian, founder of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship said his grandfather was an original Azusa member. God has never worked according to the colour of man. He operates true the heart of man.

Salvation still remains the number one condition to enjoy God’s blessings here on earth and to make it to heaven.

If you think you need salvation, it’s as simple as ABC.

  1. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, and receive Him into your life (John 1:12a).
  2. Believe unto righteousness with your heart (John 1:12c, Romans 10:10a).
  3. Confess with your mouth. With the mouth, confession is made unto salvation (Romans10:10b).

You’re now born again! If you need counselling about life and how to grow in grace, visit a living church near your house.

Best wishes and regards!
