Billy Witnessed His 100th Birthday

Billy Graham (Nov. 7, 1918 – Feb. 21, 2018)! He left to rest at the age of 99, which was what I read online. I queried the fact that he was supposed to complete the 100th year.

As a lover of Mathematics, I started calculating. and I found out that he spent about 99 and a quarter years, I mean about 99 years 3 months. I asked myself that, “How can I get the remaining 9 months.” A question came to my mind, “Is gestation period in human not 9 months or thereabout?”

If it is so, I would like to ask the experts that, “Can’t we start counting our days, right from the day conception takes place?” Then if I’m fully supported, I found the lost 9 months I’m looking for to make Billy’s days on earth a hundred years.

I can then conclusively say that Billy witnessed his 100th birthday! I read that his wife left for glory 11 years ago at the age of 87, and that he was the man of God that started Radio and Television evangelism. What a breakthrough in the spreading of the gospel!

There are countless reasons why I’m interested to write this post about this great man of God. The first reason being that, our second son was put to bed on November 7, the day this great man of God was born.

And secondly, as we know, in spiritual matters, 7 connotes completeness, hence, everything about this great man must be completely fulfilled, that was why I was tasking my brain to find the remaining 9 months to complete a hundred year of his stay on earth.

Moreover, when I was in National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) of my country, precisely on October 1, 2003, I vowed that day that before I left service year, I must have read 45 books. This is the way I wrote it in my Diary, “I must read (study) at least 45 Christian literature and the whole Bible this service year.” I’m not afraid of finishing my Bible in a year, God had helped me to do it three years earlier, in Year 2000.

One of the books I came in contact with was one of Billy Graham’s books, “Just As I Am – Autobiography of Billy Graham.”

The other books are listed below:

  1. God’s Generals by Roberts Liardon.
  2. David (192 pages) by Marie Rothenberg.
  3. Supernatural Wisdom by Bishop David O. Oyedepo.
  4. The Resurrection and the Life is Here by GBile Akanni.
  5. Why? Because You Are Anointed (87 pages) by T. D. Jakes.
  6. The Life of D. L. Moody by Dwight Lyman.
  7. A Passion for Souls by Lyle W. Dorsett.
  8. Youth & Mission (257 pages) by Paul Borthwick.
  9. More Than A Carpenter by JoshMcDowell.
  10. Father of Faith Missions (126 pages) – Autobiography of Hudson Taylor.
  11. Power through Prayer (88 pages) by E. M. Bounds.
  12. Pigs in the Parlour by Frank & Ida Mae Hammond.
  13. The Call (222 pages) by Rick Joyner.
  14. When God Speaks (134 pages) by GBile Akanni.
  15. The New Covenant Unveiled (143 pages) by David Wilkerson.
  16. Discovering Your Destiny (126 pages) by Bob Gass.
  17. In His Steps (WWJD?) – 377 pages by Charles M. Sheldon

  26. Out of the Comfort Zone (152 pages) by George Verwer
  27. Pathway to Leadership (174 pages) by GBile Akanni.
  28. Leading the Way (248 pages) by Paul Borthwick.
  29. When the Heavens are Closed by Bro GBile Akanni.

These are the 29 books I was to able to read, I couldn’t complete “Just As I am – Autobiography of Billy Graham.” I would have reviewed it in this post. In lieu of this, I would try to review all these books because I have them jotted down in my Diary, in fact, when I was typing this post, I was doing so from my Diary of 15 years ago.

I couldn’t read the other books of Rick Joyner – “The Harvest” and “The Final Quest”; they are sequels to “The Call.” Also I couldn’t read other books of Bishop (Dr) David Oyedepo during the Service Year, since I have them in my Library. Other books on the list that I couldn’t read were, “They Met in Calvary” by W. E. Sangster, “People Just Like Us” by J. Oswald Sanders, and “The Stranger’s message” by Paul McCusker. Do you think I don’t have Pastor Adeboye Enoch Adejare’s and Pastor Kumuyi’s books in my library?

Be on the lookout for the review of as many books as possible from the list above.

Salvation still remains the number one condition to enjoy God’s blessings here on earth and to make it to heaven.

If you think you need salvation, it’s as simple as ABC.

  1. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, and receive Him into your life (John 1:12a).
  2. Believe unto righteousness with your heart (John 1:12c, Romans 10:10a).
  3. Confess with your mouth. With the mouth, confession is made unto salvation (Romans10:10b).

You’re now born again! If you need counselling about life and how to grow in grace, visit a living church near your house.

Best wishes and regards!
