Are we to see promises as our rights? Contrary to the opinion of many that “A promise is a debt.” I want to categorically say, “A promise is not a debt.” What is a debt, if I may ask? A debt is something you owe another person. Though it can also be an obligation, that is, the debtor must have benefited one thing or the other from you. What does this imply? Promises are not binding; there are steps you have to take for the promise to be fulfilled.
Step 1
Do what will trigger the positive response of the person that has promised: There are steps to take when you’re being promised a thing. Exodus 12:25 says, “And it shall come to pass, when ye come to the land which the Lord will give you, according as he has promised, …. God has promised the Israelites the land flowing with milk and honey – Canaan Land, that is why it was nicknamed Promised Land. The question is, “did they just find themselves there in a day?” God can do this, but he decided not to do it. It is not every time you break protocol with God! They took responsibilities and took as many steps as possible before arriving there.
Step 2
Put the person in remembrance: In Isaiah 43:26, God says, “Put me in remembrance: …. As you are taking steps, you have to remind the person, of the promise. Many things can warrant the delay of the promise, the person has many things to attend to. There may be some other people in his life that are more important than you are, and maybe he wants to attend to them first. You have to always put yourself in front by presenting your case to him in the right way.
Step 3
Remind the person always: Remind the person until the promise is fulfilled. Don’t say you’ve reminded him, while he has not done it. Continue to put him in remembrance until the promise is fulfilled. Don’t be scared of any negative reaction that your request may attract, it is better than keeping mute. The unjust judge said of the widow in Luke 18:5, “Yet because this widow troubles me, I will avenge her, lest by continual coming she weary me.”
Conclusion: If God, the almighty admonishes us to put Him in remembrance, how much more we need to remind men that have promised us one thing or the other. There is also a need to be loyal to them, in order to speed up the delivery of the promise.
In Isaiah 43:26, God says, “Put me in remembrance: let us plead together, declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.”

Yes True Peter some are slow to keep promises even when they are to God but as you advised we remind them and we Pray they will respond positively.
When I first started seeking The Lord He gave me the Scripture below to take to heart and yes it was a Promise and God is Faithful, if He says it I Believe it.
Proverbs 3: 4-7 Trust in The Lord with all thine Heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways Acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes, fear The Lord and depart from evil.
